“9:30 Sunday Morning” is an original Christian country song by Red Dirt Grace, written by Michael Deason. It began while he was sitting in church, watching ordinary people arrive with the joys, burdens, and quiet stories of their lives.
The song honors those who show up looking for grace, peace, hope, healing, and the strength to face another week.

In Michael’s words
Sometimes songs don’t come from a studio. Sometimes they come from simply sitting still and paying attention.
“9:30 Sunday Morning” was written while we were sitting in church waiting for the 9:30 service to begin. As people started walking in, I began noticing all the little moments happening around me. Families finding their seats. Older couples walking hand in hand. Parents carrying babies. People smiling, hurting, praying, exhausted, hopeful… all showing up.
The room was slowly filling up, but it felt like every person walking through those doors carried a story only God fully knew.
I started writing down what I was seeing and feeling right there in the service before it even started. Before long, those observations turned into a song.
This song is really about ordinary people showing up to church with ordinary lives, looking for grace, peace, hope, healing, and maybe just enough strength to make it through another week.
Funny how sometimes God gives you a song right in the middle of a quiet moment.

At 9:30 Sunday morning, Amazing Grace fills the room
An old man sits alone beside a love that’s gone too soon
A woman walks in slowly, leaning on her faith
And a row of grieving hearts still lifts a song of praise
Young couple in the back row trying not to break
A single mom comes hurrying in, giving all she’s got today
The choir is not as full now, some faces are not there
Still something holy meets us when we gather here in prayer
At 9:30 Sunday morning
We bring our worn-out lives
Tired hands and hidden hurt
And hurt we keep inside
Some stand tall, some stay sitting
Some are barely holding on
But the Lord wants more than singing
He wants every part of us
One old saint remains there seated while the others rise to sing
And one more empty place reminds us life can change in a week
But God sees every quiet ache, each burden, every scar
And He is near to every soul, no matter where they are
Not just polished Sunday faces
Not just words we say
He wants the truth we carry
And the hearts we bring today
At 9:30 Sunday morning
We bring our worn-out lives
Tired hands and hidden hurt
And hurt we keep inside
Some stand tall, some stay sitting
Some are barely holding on
But the Lord wants more than singing
He wants every part of us
Not just Sunday at 9:30
Not just in a church pew
Every day can feel like worship
When my whole heart turns to You
